Minecraft 26.50 Wilderness Bound APK for Android

Minecraft 26.50, which Mojang ships under the name Wilderness Bound, was released on September 15, 2026, and arrived on Android as internal build 1.26.50.4. This one is not a maintenance patch: it is a game drop, the release that finally takes everything that 26.40 hid behind the «Drop 3 of 2026» experimental toggle and puts it into the normal game.

Coming from 26.40 or from any Chaos Cubed build, this is the update that actually changes how you play. Two hotfixes landed on top of it afterwards: 26.51 and the current stable release.

The dappled forest and poplar trees

The new biome is the dappled forest, and it generates next to cold biomes. It is an autumn wood: leaf litter on the ground, red shrubs, brown mushrooms and the occasional spruce. The centrepiece is the poplar tree, whose leaves come out red, orange or yellow, picked at random when the tree generates or when a sapling grows.

Poplar brings a full wood set: log, wood, planks, and from those the stairs, slabs, fences, fence gates, signs, hanging signs, buttons, pressure plates, doors, trapdoors, boats, boats with chest and shelves. Log and wood can be stripped like any other species.

Shelf mushrooms grow on the sides of logs and of fallen poplar trees. They come in two sizes: the small one grows into the large one with bone meal, and the large one drops two items. They work in mushroom stew, suspicious stew and rabbit stew, they are bouncy if you land on them, and wandering traders sell them. The usual passive mobs — chicken, cow, fox, pig, rabbit and sheep — spawn here in their cold variant where one exists.

Straw beds, cushions and abandoned camps

Two new blocks change what a night away from base looks like:

• Straw bed: lets you sleep through the night without moving your spawn point. It is single-use and is destroyed when you get up, and it does not work in the Nether or the End. Four are crafted from three hay bales.
• Cushion: an entity your character sits on, in all 16 colours. Crafted from the wool slab of its colour, it can be placed on any flat surface, has no collision and cannot be moved.

Both show up inside the new abandoned camp structure, which generates across a long list of biomes. Every biome gets its own variants: some built with coloured wool stairs, others overgrown with leaves or cobwebs, some with a tree or a small crop patch. Chests and barrels with loot sit around the site.

Wool and concrete stairs and slabs

Wool and concrete finally have stairs and slabs in all 16 colours. It is the least headline-worthy change in the drop and the one builders will use most, because it closes a gap Bedrock Edition had carried for years.

Explorer maps for four more structures

There are new maps that point at abandoned camps, plus explorer maps for Ancient City, mineshaft, desert pyramid and warm ocean ruins. Maps in general were improved as well.

Changes you will notice outside the biome

• The Drop 3 of 2026 experiment is gone: all of its content is now vanilla, no toggle required.
• The redstone comparator is simply called comparator now.
• Multiple jukeboxes can play the same sound independently.
• The hay bale side texture was redrawn so it lines up with the straw bed.
• Parties are no longer marked as beta: the command works and party messages appear in chat with a blue prefix.
• A new seed template, Dappled Forest, drops you straight into the biome.
• «Automatic» upscaling quality defaults back to native resolution on the Custom preset, and on Windows the maximum render distance with Vibrant Visuals goes up to 48 chunks.
• High-resolution Korean font support was added, and Korean text that showed as question marks on mobile is fixed.
• Storage settings gained a Clear Layout Cache action, and the text-to-speech option tied to device settings was removed.

150 bug fixes

Mojang closed 150 issues in this drop, many of them long-standing. The ones Android players feel most: a memory leak from moving blocks far from the player, the idle framerate reduction that was actually raising CPU usage, the player model distorting mid-game, text running off the book and quill, and several crashes. If the game was stuttering or closing on its own, this is the update you wanted.

How to update to Minecraft 26.50 on Android

1. Open Google Play on your phone or tablet.
2. Search for Minecraft and open Mojang Studios’ official listing.
3. Tap Update (or Install if this is your first time).
4. Launch the game and check Settings → Profile for the build number.

Do I need to turn an experiment on? No. That was 26.40. From 26.50 onward the dappled forest, poplars, straw beds and cushions are part of the normal game.

Will I lose my worlds? No. On Android your worlds stay on the device. Back them up before any big update anyway.

What about a world I already had? The new biome only generates in unexplored terrain, so you need to travel away from the area you already loaded, or start a world with the Dappled Forest template.
